Costumes:
Dear Choir,
I hope that this is not too late in telling you/describing to you how the costume department works in NUS Choir. I have many postings about this in this folder so do follow me in this part by part explanation.
Costumes Part 1: The outfit
As you first view this forum, you can see a beautiful picture of our Varsity Voices 2006.
This is our carolling costume
I would show you all a close up photo of both the ladies...

and gentlemen...

For the ladies, we wear a black long-sleeved top and an orange batik skirt. For the gentlemen, it is a punjabi top with black pants (which you have to have) and a red sash. (Sometimes the guys would wear black shirt and pants plus a red tie which will be given out on the day of performance) But for these photos, it is not complete as we are not wearing any footwear. I shall be briefing you on this. For ladies, you have to wear black strappy heels like these:

And gentlemen, you have to wear
black shoes and black socks.
Please try to get at least (own) 3 pairs of black socks. So don't give excuses to the welfare secretary if she/he finds that you are wearing other coloured socks.Next up is the formal wear:

This picture was also taken during Varsity Voices 2006.
The shoe rules still apply for the gentlemen. AS for the ladies, you have to wear
cream-coloured heels It goes well with the cream-coloured blouse and turqoise/green skirt.
During the course of your choir years, we will be contacting the tailor/seamstress to come down to take your measurements and this costume (for Ladies and Gentlemen) is yours to keep!:)
Costing:
Ladies: $110 (for one VV), $55 (for 2 VVs)
Men: $160 (for one VV), $80 (for 2 VVs)
I shall post up the other parts once I am free.
